How We Work

A proven process, so you always know what to expect.

Before we write a line of code, you'll know what the user journey looks like, what every screen looks like, how long development will take, and what we need from you along the way.

Launching an app is hard, and we've learned plenty from the ones that didn't go to plan. Every project we take on now follows the same eight-step process — not because it's rigid, but because it's the sequence that catches problems while they're still cheap to fix, and keeps you properly informed at every stage instead of finding out what you're getting only once it's finished.

Before we write a line of code, you'll know

  • What the user's journey through the app will look like
  • What every single screen will look like
  • How long development will take
  • What's expected of you as the client along the way
  1. 1

    Understanding the expectation

Before we design or build anything, we need to understand what you're actually trying to achieve. That means several up-front conversations to walk through your idea, ask the questions that surface misunderstandings early, and flag risks while they're still easy to plan around.

  2. 2

    Capturing the journey in wireframes

Next we map every screen in the app as a wireframe — the blueprint for how the app is structured and how a user moves through it. This is where the app's structure gets tested and refined, while it's still cheap to change.

  3. 3

    Designing every screen

Once the wireframes are reviewed and agreed, we move into full interface design — carefully mocking up every screen so you can see exactly what the finished app will look like. It's also the clearest possible brief for our development team: no ambiguity about what's expected.

  4. 4

    Building a working prototype

With the design signed off, we build a prototype to test the interface on real physical devices, confirming everything discussed during design actually holds up in practice before full development begins.

  5. 5

    Coding your app

This is where the groundwork pays off. Our developers build to industry standard, reviewing each other's code and writing tests as they go, so quality gets checked continuously rather than discovered at the end.

  6. 6

    Testing what we've built

Once development is complete, we test internally across a range of devices and fix what we find before handing the app to your team for a final review of your own.

  7. 7

    Launching your app

Once it's ready, we take care of getting your app live — submitted and available on the relevant app stores and distribution channels.

  8. 8

    Keeping it running

Launch isn't the finish line. We keep maintaining your app afterwards — updates, fixes, and the changes needed to keep it working properly as devices and platforms move on.
